Bang Ecommerce website for GOAL
Bang Ecommerce has been used by the charity GOAL to power its ecommerce website.
The system manages the high volumes of transactions that GOAL experiences through its online shop over the Christmas period. The GOAL store has a range of gifts that can be purchased that will benefit the poorest in the world.
GOAL is an international humanitarian agency dedicated to the alleviation of suffering amongst the poorest of the poor. It was founded by its current Chief Executive John O’Shea in 1977.GOAL works towards ensuring that the poorest and most vulnerable in our world and/or those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental needs and rights of life such as food, water, shelter, medical attention and primary education. GOAL has responded to almost every major natural and man-made disaster and catastrophe in the past 32 years and is currently operational in 10 countries in Africa, Asia and Central America.
Since its inception, GOAL has sent in excess of 1,500 volunteers (GOALies) to work in the Developing World, alongside many thousands of local staff and has spent close to €600 million on the delivery of aid to the poor. We have managed to achieve this on as low an administration cost base as possible.
